Jaws

Amity is a summer town. We need summer dollars.

Photo of Roy Scheider In a resort town a young woman disappears after a late-night swim. When pieces of her wash ashore, Police Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) suspects the worst, a big shark, but Mayor Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) refuses to close the beaches because this would effect the summer tourist season. The shark strikes again, killing a young boy. But the capture of a tiger shark by local fishermen appears to have resolved the crisis.

The monster must be stopped and Brody, a scientist (Richard Dreyfuss), and an old fisherman (Robert Shaw) with revenge on his mind, set out to sea to find and kill the shark that is terrorizing the town. But the shark is the hunter and not the hunted. It tries to destroy the fishing boat and the three fishermen.
