The Truman show
29 year old Truman Burbank (Jim Carrey) lives and works in Seahaven, a perfect little community in which all the people are friendly. His life, unbeknownst to him, is the subject of a television show. But there is no real life. No real houses. No real job. No real office buildings. All his relationships are phony. His life is a series of product placements
Overseeing all of this is TV producer Christof (Ed Harris), who carefully controls Truman's world and makes sure he doesn't stray from his artificial world. It took the (faked) death of his adoptive father at sea to strike a fear of water in Truman and keep him in Seahaven. But now Truman is slowly realizing that he is caught like a butterfly in a jar and he gets more and more determined to escape Seahaven no matter what the cost.
